Contemporary

If you've ever wished there was another Boathouse cafe of the Palm Beach ilk, relax. There is. It's not Hawkesbury side, but having the same owner gives this lifestyle homewares store that same packed-with-flowers and Palm-Beachy striped furnishings beachhouse feel - plus you get the sound of the surf just over the dunes. Sometimes it seems the whole of the northern beaches is here, either lining up outside for an immaculate Single O caffe latte ($3.80), or sitting down to breakfasts of Sonoma miche toast, heirloom tomatoes, leg ham and poached egg, and/or browsing for cushion covers, pastel plates, lanterns and armchairs. A sweet spot to settle in with a cast-iron pot of Single Origin Roaster's loose-leaf green tea, with the added bonus of being able to buy beautiful teacups. This sunny cafe/interiors store was made for mornings, with its newspapers, baked eggs and toasties of bacon, tomato, rocket and creamy aioli wrapped in paper.
