Chez Dre

French$$

Chez Dre is tres romantic, with its high-backed booth seating, dramatic dining room with ballroom proportions and ornate gated courtyard. But wait until you see the food: sumptuous tarts, pastries, petits gateaux and macarons. But, savouries first … maybe goat’s cheese salad with roasted beetroot, green beans, raisins and walnuts. Brioche French toast is almost more dessert than breakfast (served all day); it comes with caramelised apples, vanilla mascarpone and topped with a beautifully sculpted orange tuile. Chez Dre is packed at peak times but never sways from spot-on.
