Chingon

Mexican$$

After the real thing but nervous about Mexico’s travel warnings? Hit this candelabra-clad cantina at the sleepy end of Swan Street. The chefs are brothers, hailing from New Mexico, and have a holy reverence for the sacred taco. Start with a cup of charred corn, lime and chipotle crema. There are six varieties of fresh corn tortilla tacos, including roasted capsicum, baby squash and red cabbage for the vegos, or try a sultry Al Pastor with char-grilled pork seasoned with achiote (annatto seed spice blend), pineapple and capsicum. Retire to the terrace with a Michelada beer and imagine yourself in a Corona ad.
