Cibi

Japanese$$

This light-filled cafe will charm Nipponophiles with its little Japanese touches, from matcha muffins with pockets of sweet azuki-bean paste to ‘grandmother’s breakfast’ at weekends - with grilled salmon, omelette, miso soup, potato salad, brown rice and, if you’re daring, natto (sticky, fermented soy beans). Cibi offers good, unfussy food, with cafe staples like avocado on toast next to home-style Japanese curry. Coffee offers another reason to become a regular; in warmer months coffee on ice hits the spot. The cafe shares its table space with a shop display of immaculately designed, artisan Japanese ceramics and homewares.
