Concordia Club

German$$

It’s hard to believe you’re still in Sydney at this sunny, happy Bavarian clubhouse set among parkland and bowling greens. While kids run around outside (hooray!), relieved young parents drink icy German beers and crisp rieslings as giant platters of schnitzel, kasslers and pork hocks groan their way to the table. Sound overwhelming? Don’t fret - it’s German, but not as you know it. Light and crisp, the schnitty’s tricked up with panko crumbs, the salad dressing is more buttermilk than mayo and even spaetzle doesn’t come as drowning in butter as it might. Throw in a sunny afternoon and this place is a tiny touch of the Tirol in Tempe.
