Coogee Bay Hotel

Good Food hat15/20

The Coogee Bay Hotel is a great pub food experience. In summer, dine on salt-and-pepper squid in the beachside beer garden. In winter warm yourself with seafood chowder beneath heated umbrellas. The huge tomahawk steaks no longer feature but the pub's boast that it's serious about steaks remains. Beautifully cooked prime cuts of meat - Black Angus grain-fed rump and New York-style sirloin - are marbled, tender and served with a delicate salad, chips, sauces (such as shiraz jus) and the sharpest of steak knives. Vegetarians love the sweet potato burger.
