Silverwood Estate is a tiny three-hectare vineyard run by the Dennis family, with just three grape varieties, the others being chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. This pinot noir is medium-light red with purple tints. Some meaty reductive aromas soon give way to red and black fruit aromas, laced with dried herbs. The palate is intense, smooth and fleshy, with ample soft tannins and a feature of the wine is its texture in the mouth. It has smooth balance, harmony and good length. Good drinking now to about 2019.
