INSPIRED by the lightly fortified southern French Beaumes de Venise muscats (hence the B de V moniker), this young wine is at odds with Rutherglen tradition. Instead of a deeply coloured, potent, lush, liqueurish muscat, Rutherglen Estates B de V is pale with a very slight pink tinge and a fresh aroma combining exotic hints of flowers, ginger and spice with a core of delicious muscaty crushed grapes. Very sweet yet tangy and vibrant, it's good chilled as a warm-weather dessert wine. (Screw cap; 14.5 per cent alcohol.)
