A distinct Champagne that has its heart and soul in the southerly vineyards of the region, the Cote de Bar. Being made solely with black grapes, the colour also has a bronze tinge. The bead is fine and the nose carries aromas of ripe red apple, some sweet, yeasty notes and wild red fruits – very striking. On the palate it arrives with a crunchy hit of crisp bosc pear, red apple, and low-dose savoury autolysis flavour rides through the finish. Chalky, gently phenolic – a great and distinctive Champagne!
