More pasta for Carlton North. Because too much is never enough. The ever-evolving cafe that began its life in 2012 as St Ali North, then became Green Park Dining, has now entered its third iteration as cafe/nighttime pasta and wine bar Park Street Dining.

Some of the owners are the same (Jesse and Vanessa Gerner) but they've brought in partner Shane Barrett and chefs from Bomba, Anada and Nomada to spruce up and turn the whole thing mostly Italian.

It's still a cafe by day with chef Russell Hall doing PX beef-stuffed waffles and coconut hotcakes for breakfast, and a tight lunch of a daily pasta and pie, pork rolls and big salads.

Looks-wise, the slightly awkward boxy room has been opened a little at the bar end (still curtained off at night) and given the millennial treatment (bright blond woods, foliage, bronze bits, raw leather seats).

A new bar area will face out to the bike path for evening perving with Croatian, Greek and Italian wine.

The Gerners, long-time Spanish obsessives, are turning the focus at night to Venetian cicchetti – veal crostini, arancini and other drinking snackables to go with an extended wine list curated by somm Vicki Brewer – braced by prawn agnolotti, ragu pastas and steaks.
