An airline's food might prove a little less of a consideration when selecting a carrier flying out of Sydney from now on, with Kitchen by Mike opening on Tuesday March 7 at T1 International.

Fly by Mike tray packs will be the carry-on luggage of envy on many flights given the quality of some airlines' food.

With salads, roast vegetables and light meat and fish dishes on the opening menu, chef Mike McEnearney says the line-up will expand to include bento boxes from mid April.

Foodies looking to fuel up pre-flight can eat in at the venue breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fans lacking a boarding pass will have to wait until later in the year, with McEnearney planning to open a Kitchen by Mike on Kippax Street, in Surry Hills.

Open daily, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
