It's another blow for the Richmond dining scene. Union Dining held its last service on February 4, and now, chef Ryan Flaherty's Bridge Road restaurant Mister Jennings has been reported as closed since Friday.

Mister Jennings's answering machine states "the restaurant is closed until further notice".

Flaherty, who previously helped Scott Pickett open the Estelle and has runs on the board at El Bulli and the Fat Duck (UK), is reportedly taking a break from the industry, and couldn't be reached for comment.

The shuttering will likely surprise Richmond residents. Flaherty's modern bistro and wine bar opened to critical acclaim and has held a hat since 2014.

Suffice to say, Flaherty's frozen kangaroo carpaccio will be missed.
