Chef Darryl Hand has been appointed the new executive chef at the Arts Centre Melbourne. Hand, who was most recently executive chef at the Sebel Heritage Golf and Country Club in the Yarra Valley, is actually returning to the Arts Centre.
It has been a long time between services: he last worked there from 1987 to 1991. Hand is overseeing venues under the spire and Hamer Hall, including Allegro, Cafe Vic, Cento Espresso, Curve Bar, Mezz Bar and the recently opened Riverside Bar. The other centre restaurants, including Sake and Trocadero, are separate businesses.
