When Beyonce and Jay Z tucked into their gift bags at the Grammy Awards on Monday, the healthy-living couple would have found they could wind down after the big night with some Blossom Blends tea.
With brands worldwide vying for a place in the 150 celebrity goodie bags, how did an Aussie tea sneak in?
Grammy organisers contacted Sydney-based owner Anne McWilliam last October, but at first the Blossom Blends camp thought it was spam. McWilliam contacted the Grammys and was told a staff member had been given the tea as a gift and they felt it'd sit well with tea-drinking music celebrities.
It makes you wonder just how far the music industry has moved away from rock'n'roll. McWilliam, the great granddaughter of the founder of McWilliam's Wine, started Blossom Blends in 2012 after leaving the banking industry.
She had to submit her teas to the Grammy board for approval. The pack included Complexion Perfection tea, sure to be a winner with LA's plastic fantastics.
