Bentley team gets to the Point

Bentley Restaurant & Bar has finally confirmed its city move (Short Black, April 30), but an interesting twist will see the Bentley team open another venue at Potts Point.

Bentley co-owner Brent Savage says Bentley will open late in the year at the Bistro Fax site at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in the city, but Potts Point is set to get more action following the successful launch of Monopole by the Bentley team.

The Bentley crew tried to purchase Macleay Street Bistro in Potts Point, but were beaten to the prize by new owners Mark Campbell and Phillip Fikkers.

But Macleay Street Bistro isn't the only available restaurant site on the strip, and Short Black understands Bentley is close to a deal. Savage wouldn't be drawn on any negotiations, but says he would love to add a French bistro to the portfolio.
