Carlton Chinese Noodle Cafe closed quietly at the beginning of February after 35 years in operation. A regular haunt of university students and families, the cafe, at 154 Rathdowne Street, had a sign in the window simply stating it had ceased operations as of February 1. Espresso tried to phone and doorknock, to no avail.
