Much-loved Urban Grind will shortly cease to be part of the streetscape in Paddington.
Brett Roland, who bought the coffee bolt-hole from former owner Morgan Daly in October last year, will re-launch the Paddo site on February 27 as "Little Brew". He also owns Brew in Burnett Lane.
“We'll have a new food menu of simple breakfasts, lunches and bar snacks like tasting platters and quesadillas – easy nibbling food, not unlike what we do at Brew," Roland says.
He has also pretty much doubled seating capacity in the once bijou cafe, having knocked a hole through the wall and opened up two back rooms with panoramic views over the hills and gullies of Paddington.
"There's going to be sunrooms full of white furniture and plants. We're also going to make the front a bit greener and add a dry bar and more tables and chairs."
A recently granted liquor licence and trading hours extended to 6pm mean Little Brew will add brews of the alcoholic kind to its coffee menu with a bar list of craft beers, cider, wine and cocktails.
