North Bondi's Comida restaurant served its last heirloom tomato salad at the weekend, the restaurant closing for good after opening its doors only four months ago.

Comida co-owner Dave Owen says the restaurant has sold, with rumours its incoming operators will open an Italian restaurant in its place on a strip bolstered by the recent arrival of chef Darren Robertson's new venue, Rocker.

Owen, the long-serving restaurant manager at Icebergs Dining Room & Bar, is returning to restaurateur Maurice Terzini's nest, set to manage the restaurant at the Dolphin Hotel in Surry Hills.

"My business partner Gaudi Diaz is keeping (the duo's other Bondi venture) Paradise Road Kitchen."
