Dine out and help the homeless

If you're dining out this Christmas, consider a venue that promotes DineSmart.

StreetSmart, which collects money for local grassroots charities supporting the homeless, have signed up 37 Brisbane restaurants this year.

All you need to do is to donate is indicate to your waiter that you'd like $2 (or more, if you're feeling generous) added to your bill for StreetSmart.

All money donated will go straight to a local charity and is used for such practicalities as new sheets for beds in shelters, helping to provide the homeless with meals, or playground equipment at refuges and shelters. For a list of participating restaurants go to www.streetsmartaustralia.org
