The restaurant at Shaw Vineyard Estate in Murrumbateman is set to reopen.

Formerly Flint in the Vines, the venue will reopen as Olleyville at Shaw Vineyard Estate, run by caterers Create Events who also operate Poppy's Cafe at the Australian War Memorial.

For the moment, Olleyville will share the space with the existing Shaw Vineyard cellar door while the Shaw family builds their new cellar door closer to the front gate - Graeme Shaw said he expects it to open in six to eight months.

The spacious restaurant has been given an initial minor refurbishment - a new coat of paint, darker tones and a more homely, rustic look. When the cellar door moves out, Olleyville will expand to fill the full space, and be given a more permanent makeover.

Olleyville's general manager and executive chef Keith Jones said the menu is about, "good, simple food".

"I want it to be affordable but I don't want the food to be super rich where you can't eat it every night," he said.

"We've all got that friend who's a really good cook and when they invite you over you jump at the chance - we want it to be like that."

The wood oven will remain at the centre of the menu, but instead of a focus on pizzas like at Flint, will cook up share meat plates for two to three people - a garlic and lime lamb rack, a whole baked barramundi, a free range roasted chicken, a Tomahawk Angus, and an apple and rhubarb crumble with ice cream. All dishes will be matched with a Shaw Vineyard wine suggestion.

A kids menu will serve smaller versions of some of the mains, and pizzas with child-friendly toppings, and cheese and antipasto boards will also be available.

Like before, the venue will also cater for events and weddings.

The restaurant is named after the mid-19th century wool producing property that was taken over by the Shaw family and turned into a vineyard 19 years ago.

Olleyville is expected to open in late August or early September and will be open lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday, plus breakfast on the weekends.
