Former Rockpool chef to run Sefa Kitchen

The lower slopes of Bondi Road just keep giving on the food front with Sefa Kitchen joining the action at 292 Bondi Road.

Former Rockpool chef Simon Zalloua moves across from Embers in Darlinghurst to run Sefa's kitchen. ''[The menu] is based on food of my upbringing, which is Middle Eastern, and the owner, who is Turkish,'' Zalloua says.

The menu is interesting reading: dandelion, chicory and feta borek, freekah, roast beets and carob glaze, and dessert of flamed cardamom cream, baby dried figs and sesame wafers.
