Gelato Messina launches Coco Pops flavour

Loading

It's just like a chocolate milkshake. Only crunchy. And made from gelato.

Coco Pops fans over the age of five now have an excuse to indulge their guilty pleasure with Gelato Messina and Kellogg's collaborating on a one-off flavour. Coco Pops gelato will be available for the next week only.

The gelato flavour, being sold at Gelato Messina's 11 Australian outlets (and their store in Las Vegas) from today (March 16) until Tuesday March 22nd* features a base of chocolate milkshake gelato studded with crunchy Coco Pop clusters.

Gelato Messina's Declan Lee said he accepted Kellogg's offer to collaborate because he thought the flavour combination would resonate. "We all remember drinking the leftover milk from a bowl of Coco Pops... So imagine we've taken that milk and turned it into gelato."

It's an idea both companies hope will snap, crackle and pop with customers and will be available for home delivery as well as in-store.

Lee said that if the flavour sells well it may experience a re-run, as have other popular "one-off" flavours in the past such as Number Two (peanut butter gelato with chocolate brownie and dulce de leche inspired by an Austin Powers' character) and Robert Brownie Jnr.
