Celebrity chef George Calombaris' Mama Baba restaurant was broken into on Monday morning and more than $20,000 was stolen from a safe.
Mr Calombaris shared his anger at the news via Twitter this morning.
"Who ever broke into @MamaBaba-DalySt this morning. I will get u. Trust me. I will. GC"
The restaurant was broken into about 5am by three men wearing caps and covering their faces. CCTV cameras captured the men's movements. They used a crowbar to break in, and building security codes were also used.
The thieves tried to get into the restaurant earlier but were scared off by cleaners before returning.
Spokeswoman Lauren Calleja said break-ins were "always annoying".
"It's the week before Christmas, it's quite disappointing, but as George said in his tweet there's no doubt we will catch them."
Police are attending the premises but the restaurant will be open for business.
