Gourmet Traveller lists A. Baker and Eighty-six

A. Baker and Eighty-six will be celebrating their inclusion in Gourmet Traveller’s list of the best new restaurants around the country this year.

The magazine’s list of the best 20 new restaurants includes eight from Sydney, seven from Melbourne, two from Adelaide, one from Perth and the Canberra pair.
Of A. Baker, the very new eatery in New Acton, Gourmet Traveller says: ‘‘It’s a bakery. It’s a cafe. It’s a wine bar. It’s a restaurant.

A. Baker is a big hit that somehow manages to convincingly pull off most of these identities all at once.’’ And of Eighty-six: ‘‘Buzzy new Canberra contender Eighty-six brings fun, punchy dishes and a party vibe to the increasingly hip heart of Braddon.’’
