Heart and Home: The Chairman and Yip's family dinner series

Natasha Rudra

The Chairman and Yip's much anticipated international dinner collaboration is nigh.

For a week and a half starting August 25, the Barton restaurant will serve up a feast of Chinese classics inspired by family.

Diners will be served 10 dishes that come from family recipes handed down by the chefs' mums, grandmothers and aunts. Expect dishes such as fried shrimps coated with salted egg, or crispy taro cakes with smoked duck, or lamb belly buns.

It's part of Heart and Home - a series of dinners cooked up by chefs from the Chairman and Yip and their sister restaurant The Chairman in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong chefs fly to Canberra to collaborate on a special menu once every year and both teams spend weeks sharing tips and sending each other inspiration and recipes.

Previous collaborations between the Chairman Group's Canberra and Hong Kong restaurant have included Chinese New Year celebration feasts.

Heart and Home is on from August 25 - September 3 at Chairman and Yip, Burbury Close, Barton. $95. Book on 6162 1220 or see chairmangroup.com.au
