Hong Kong's Stanley Wong is the latest international chef to be opening a Sydney restaurant. Eastside Grill will slide into Kensington Street, Chippendale, early next year.

Wong, who operates kitchen studio Culinart in Hong Kong, has worked at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, but is probably best known for his time at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in his home town.

Eastside Grill, which will take its design cues from contemporary New York grills, is the latest project headed to The Old Rum store, which also recently announced plans for a new Italian restaurant.

In December The Old Rum Store will also open The Private Kitchen, a pop-up space where international chefs will be among those to feature.
