Cancel your lunch plans, the word on the street is that In-N-Out Burger's next pop-up will be at Dead Ringer in Surry Hills this Wednesday, January 20.

The legendary American burger chain is expected to be giving out 300 to 500 of its signature burgers from 12pm to 4pm on the day (and if you haven't been to Dead Ringer before, this is a good excuse to check it out - we've name-checked the venue as one of our favourite outdoor dining spots for summer).

Get ready to start lining up early, as demand for burgers (and bragging rights) is huge. Long queues and early 'sell-outs' have been a recurring theme from In-N-Out Burger's previous Sydney pop-ups at Mixology Lounge, Barrio Chino and Love, Tilly Devine.

And if you're not already an In-N-Out diehard and you're wondering what the frenzy is all about - just remember that Brie Larson won a Golden Globe last week for her role in Room, and her favourite moment of the night was not actually landing the award, but scoring one of the In-N-Out burgers that singer/burger-enabler Katy Perry smuggled into the ceremony.
