Serial restaurateurs Daragh Kan, Myles Munro and Hugh Hindle (partners in Mr Burger, Tall Timber, Fancy Hank's and the soon-to-open Welcome to Thornbury) have added pocket-sized pizza place Homeslice to their portfolio.

Why pizza? "You'd struggle to find anyone who doesn't like pizza," says Kan, who saw a gap in the Richmond market. It's an area he and business partner Munro are familiar with, being past and current residents of the suburb.

They've brought in head chef Antony Campbell from Enoteca Sileno, and the menu is focused on thin, slightly chewy Roman-style pizzas.

Eat-in or takeaway, they are all 12 inches, from the classic margherita to a wintry pizza topped with cured pork cheek, brussels sprouts and pungent roast garlic.

There's also an antipasto plate and a few interesting salads if you're off the carbs.

It's not the largest space, with room enough to sip a Steam Ale while waiting for pizza to-go and a few tables out front for lingerers. Wall-to-wall white tiles keep it light.

Given that leaving the house is not always an option, the boys hope to offer trackable app-based deliveries, including booze, from September 1.
