Glowing in crisp whites and azure blues, with bougainvillea twining up the walls, Mykonos Cafe and Crepes has perfectly captured that Greek beach bar vibe (even though it's nowhere near the water), soothing Greek expats homesick for a summery seaside experience.

Thomas Deliopoulos and Sylvia Gabriel, the husband-and-wife team behind Oakleigh's popular Kalimera Souvlaki Art, have turned to the sweeter side, riffing on a 50-year-old family crepe recipe gifted to Deliopoulos by a French army colleague, but making them slightly thicker to take heartier stuffing.

Grab an excellent Illy coffee and order from the range of sweet and savoury crepes such as the Paraga, with bacon, egg and house-made Russian dip, or the Bougatsa, which reinterprets the classic Greek pastry of the same name, or you can create your own. (Deliopoulos is working on a recipe for a moussaka crepe, so stay tuned.)

Summer will bring longer hours and jaunty cocktails to kick back with in the courtyard. A Greek getaway never felt so close.

Open Wed-Thurs 11am-7pm, Fri-Sun 11am-10pm.
