Stylish South African furniture store Weylandts continues its international expansion with the opening of its first Australian store - and cafe - in Abbotsford. The Kitchen inhabits the front of the Gipps Street space, where wooden tables and chairs and textured ceramics convey the store's cultural ethos. Cape Town-based executive chef Charlene Pretorius' global-roaming breakfast and lunch menus include the Madiba homebrew burger - boerewors-spiced pork and beef with chakalaka sauce (a vegetable relish) - and an heirloom tomato and burrata salad with a rooibos glaze. Wines are from the Weylandt family vineyard, Maison.
