Melbourne's newest farmers' market opens on Sunday, December 1, at Newport's historic power substation, now an arts hub, with established names such as McIvor Farm Foods free-range pork and Woodfrog Bakery setting up stalls alongside lesser-known producers such as Spice Crate Foods, 90 Mile Biodynamic Lamb and Gippsland vegetable growers Boisdale's Best.
The inaugural market coincides with the Big West Fest.
The Substation Farmers Market will be held on the first and third Sunday of the month at 1 Market Street, Newport.
