The Melbourne versus Sydney battle for the Best Food City title rages on. Come August 15, top chefs from each city will face off for the 2014 Florey Culinary Charity Challenge, a team cooking event to raise money for the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

Scott Pickett from Estelle in Northcote will captain the Melbourne team (joined by pastry chef Pierre Roelofs from Dessert Evenings at Cafe Rosamond, Stuart McVeigh from Union Food & Wine, and John Lawson from Number 8, Crown) and Guillaume Brahimi from Bennelong will lead the harbour city's.

Each team member will have 30 minutes to prepare their entree, main or dessert in front of the audience and after sampling dishes from each team, the 600 guests and a judging panel led by Jacques Reymond will decide which city's cuisine reigns supreme. Tickets for the charity dinner, at Palladium at Crown, are $5000 for a table of 10.
