Restaurateurs Daniel and Tamara Brehaut have found their mojo in Geelong, opening Mexican spin-off Mojo Mama two doors up from their Black Bull tapas bar in Moorabool Street.

They've coupled a colourful fitout with Mexican street food, on a menu that includes chickpea and ricotta tostaditas, soft tacos filled with grilled beef or salt-and-chilli squid and braised beef brisket with potato bravas and chipotle butter.

It's mainly gluten-free, with a few vegetarian options, and nothing's over $24. A couple of snappy desserts - smoky caramel Mexican flan or sweetcorn ice-cream with candy popcorn - keep the sweet-tooths sated.

It's open Monday to Friday noon-2pm, and Monday to Saturday 5.30pm-late.

Mojo Mama, 54 Moorabool Street, Geelong, 5298 2748.
