Expect a rash of new MissChu stores and a possible foray into restaurants after founder Nahji Chu wrestled back her company from administrators. "I've got a small equity share, which is better than nothing," Chu says of the deal, backed by the Mawson Group, to regain control of the chain. "The strategy is to open 50 stores [in Australia] in the next five years," she says.

Chu says she was impressed by some of the other bids for the business, one from a catering company she is keen to work with to expand MissChu in the catering business. She has also had early discussions with a Sydney-based restaurateur about opening a mid-market Vietnamese restaurant. Chu says the Mawson Group will help with many of the complex business issues, and there are things she wishes she'd done differently. "In hindsight, I wouldn't have opened in London."
