No-bookings restaurants lead DineSmart 2013 donations

Does queuing make you more generous? No-bookings restaurants Chin Chin and Mamasita were among the country's top 10 fundraisers during DineSmart 2013, an annual event to help the homeless by asking diners to add $2 to the bill.

Restaurants around the country raised $445,921 for homelessness projects supported by StreetSmart Australia.

Southgate restaurant Sake also made the national top 10 and Baby Cafe & Pizzeria was named best new restaurant.

StreetSmart Australia's next fundraising campaign will be CafeSmart on August 8, when cafes donate $1 for every coffee sold to local projects.
