Mosman, we have a smallgoods problem. A couple of prosciutto-obsessed northside readers were a little alarmed to see the deli getting the heave-ho at the Mosman branch of Salt Meats Cheese.

SMC maintains residents of the upmarket postcode still want their smallgoods, but they want it cooked for them.

"The reality is Mosman locals would prefer to have a great value, casual pizzeria to pop into for lunch or dinner than have a deli, so the change made sense to us," an SMC spokesperson says.

The expansive group also feels Sydney needs more of what it is offering, opening a Newtown store on Erskineville Road in August.
