Potts Point restaurant Fratelli Paradiso poised to enter Tokyo market

Sydney's invasion of the Tokyo restaurant market is stepping up a gear, with Potts Point favourite Fratelli Paradiso set to become our latest export.

Branches of some of our better-known restaurants have already made incursions into the Japanese capital, with The Apollo's Greek menu, Bill Granger's relaxed Sydney fare, Luke Mangan's Mod Oz Salt venture and even Mexican fast food, via Guzman y Gomez.

Fratelli Paradiso's owners didn't return calls, but word on Sydney's eat streets is Japanese powerbrokers have been in town signing off on a fresh batch of deals.

The Italian cool of Fratelli would be a good fit for Tokyo. The Japanese company behind the latest advances has also had preliminary discussions with a high-profile city restaurateur. Despite Japan's geographic position, Sydney's Asian restaurants are also high on the shopping list.
