Shoot the Chef, Good Food Month's annual photo competition that combines Australia's passion for food and photography, is back for another year.

Whether it's your hobby, your field of study or your profession, pick up your camera and tackle this year's challenge. Use your weapon of choice - whether it be an SLR, point-and-shoot camera or a smartphone - and don't restrict yourself to professional or famous chefs.

The judges are looking for the best combination of skill and creative interpretation. Our Critics' Choice Award will be selected by a panel of photographers and foodies.

And you can vote for this year's People's Choice Award by going to goodfoodmonth.com. The award winners will receive $2500 each.

Entries close on September 8. Full details are at goodfoodmonth.com/shootthechef.
