Jovan Curic rode in from Sydney's west to successfully open Pub Life Kitchen in some of the city's most competitive inner-city suburbs, this week he heads back west for his latest launch. Superior Burger has opened in a suburb you won't find in many restaurant guides.

"Wakeley is next to Fairfield. I grew up at the base of the Blue Mountains, but a lot of my family migrated this way. I opened businesses near the city, but the grass isn't always greener. There's so much potential, we're taking the business to our customers," he says.

Curic, host of the first two seasons of TV series Foraged, has transformed the former mixed business with gold and brass light fittings and a Best of the West neon light. Beef for the burgers is sourced directly from the Hunter Valley, the menu stretching from burgers to old-fashioned potato scallops, milkshakes and Coors on tap.

Curic hopes it is just the start. "We're also looking at Penrith or Castle Hill," he says.
