What's better than one star chef in the kitchen at Monster Kitchen and Bar? Two of them.

Chef and owner of Melbourne's Pope Joan Matt Wilkinson will join Monster Kitchen and Bar's Sean McConnell in the kitchen at Monster for a one-off event in March.

Pals Wilkinson and McConnell will join forces to present a shared lunch at Monster on March 25.

"The idea's to have fun," says Wilkinson.

"How we cook is very what's around and seasonal, and things that we like to eat - simple and delicious but have an edge to them."

While the menu will be finalised closer to the date depending on what produce is available locally, the duo will feature some of their favourite dishes, including Wilkinson's grilled calamari and McConnell's famous yabbie jaffle.

While Wilkinson has been to Canberra for two book launches (his bestselling cookbooks Mr Wilkinson's Favourite Vegetables and Mr Wilkinson's Simply Dressed Salads), this will be the first time he gets in the kitchen in the nation's capital.

In between courses, you'll also get to hear from the two gents themselves, in conversation with Good Food Guide editor Myffy Rigby.
