From now until October 31 there are loads of opportunities to drink a beer from a one-litre mug. At least until the beer goes flat and warm and you have to line up for another one.

Bavarian Bier Cafe and Munich Brauhaus

Munich Brauhaus and Bavarian Beer Cafe venues have limited edition beers on tap for Oktoberfest, and Hacker-Pschorr amber lager is our pick of the bunch. The feasting and swilling runs until the end of the month with live oom-pah bands, fancy Bavarian sausage specials and family days every Sunday.

Concordia Club

Pretty much every weekend is Oktoberfest at Tempe's favourite German Club, so when it's properly time to prost, Concordia knows how to party. Expect deep-fried camembert, Erdinger on tap, cherry strudel and live music from The Bavarian Boys.

Wayward Brewing Co.

It's been a year since Wayward rolled open its brewery doors and the Camperdown beer barons are throwing an Oktoberfest party to celebrate. There will be slap-happy live bands, a bonanza of Bavarian food and beers brewed specially for the occasion in grand Munich tradition.
