Those fabulous baker boys from Bourke Street Bakery are refocusing on what they know best (baking), placing their Potts Point restaurant Wilbur's Place on the market.

Co-owner Paul Allam explains that the demands of expanding Bourke Street Bakery, with a new site opening later this year in Botany, coupled with their involvement in the social enterprise Bread and Butter Project, left little time for Wilbur's.

Allam, a former chef, concedes the diminutive laneway restaurant was a bit of a folly, but it has become a local favourite.

"It is beautiful and loved. I hope whoever buys it doesn't change it," he says.
