Modern Australian$$

Three espresso machines? Two are for milk-based coffees, explains owner Tom Labrakis, 'because we don't like to keep anybody waiting', and the gorgeous old lever-operated Mirage Veloce is purely kept for single-origin espresso coffee. Not only that, but there are two small-batch automatic roasters right there on the floor, amid much coffee memorabilia, all of which makes a fresh-tasting house blend caffe latte ($3.50) even better. It's always packed - if only for the all-day breakfast, wood-fired pizza, giant burger, Belgian waffles or Greek dips and saganaki prawns - but still. Three espresso machines is a serious commitment to good coffee.
