Forrest Brewing Company

Pub dining$$

The secret’s out about this view-spoilt weatherboard brewery in the heart of the Otways, and yet it still retains a modest atmosphere. Outside, mountain-bikers finish the day with a cold beer brewed on-site. Inside, diners enjoy the mechanics of the brewery through a yawning glass window while tucking into meals like sticky glazed pork belly tempered by lemony asparagus and poached eggs, or thin praline crepes topped with caramelised pineapple. For lunch, beer-battered fish ’n’ chips arrive in newspaper and a salad of ruby grapefruit, lime and macadamia is wonderful alongside seared scallops.
