How to cut capsicum

Sure, you can cut up a capsicum any way you like. But this quick kitchen hack means more control and less mess; very handy when you want to chop capsicum (red, yellow or green) for a stir-fry or salad.

Just stand the capsicum upright on a chopping board, holding it by the stalk. With a sharp knife, cut straight down through the shoulder. Turn once, cut again. Repeat.

Lift what you have left, and the core and seeds will remain intact, ready for the bin. This way, you have good clean sides of capsicum that you can now chop, slice or julienne easily.
