Ingredients

  • 200g self-raising flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup milk

  • 500g black grapes

  • vegetable oil for frying

  • icing sugar for dusting

Method

  1. Mix flour, sugar and salt well. Lightly beat together the egg and the milk. Make a well in the flour and add the egg mixture, stirring to obtain a smooth batter that is not too thick. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Add the clean grapes, some whole, some cut in half.

In a large pan, heat oil to a depth of two centimetres and drop in large tablespoons of batter. Squash fritelle lightly with the back of the spoon. Cook until golden brown.

Remove, allow to drain and dust with icing sugar.
