Aaah ¤ a tea break! Tea time usually means a pause, a breather or smoko - an excuse to zone out for a while, to take a brief sojourn from your desk, to refresh the mind. What will it be, a coffee or tea⁄

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water

  • 7 green cardamom pods, crushed

  • 6 strands saffron

  • 3 tsp honey

  • 8 tsp English breakfast or Earl Grey

  • 2 tbsp raw almonds, slivered

Method

  1. Bring the water to a boil and add the cardamom, saffron and honey. Simmer for 7 minutes. Turn off, add tea, cover and allow to steep to desired strength.

    Strain and top with slivered almonds.

    If you like, top up with warm milk.

    Makes 5 cups.
