Spiced pork spare ribs

These are best eaten with your fingers and, once you start, it's hard not to have just one more.

Ingredients

  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp chinese five spice
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2kg pork spare ribs, cut into individual ribs

Method

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and marinate for one hour or overnight.

Preheat oven to 160C. Place ribs in a baking tray and bake for one hour or until deep brown in colour and well cooked. Turn ribs over throughout cooking to evenly colour.

Serve with plum sauce, lemon and rice.

    This recipe would work well on a BBQ hot plate/grill too. It's best if you leave it to marinate overnight, as it allows the spicy sauce time to soak through the meat, giving it an even more delicious taste after cooking.
    If you have a family (or guests) that loves meat, you're going to need larger proportions because it's a very tasty dish! Enjoy!
