This muesli was inspired by my old boss, Hermann Schneider from Two Faces in Melbourne. He is Swiss-German, so he knows how to make the best Swiss-style muesli ever. I've changed it around a bit and I hope he doesn't mind that I call it "my muesli" now. You need to soak the oats in milk overnight.
1 cup rolled oats.
1 cup milk.
1 apple, peeled, cored and grated.
1 banana, sliced.
2 passionfruit (pulp only).
1 cup fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, boysenberries, etc).
1/4 cup dried apricots, roughly chopped.
1/4 cup dried figs, roughly chopped.
1/4 cup ground hazelnuts.
1 tbsp natural yogurt.
1 tbsp treacle.
Extra berries and yogurt for serving.
Pour the milk over the oats and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, add all the other ingredients and mix well.
Serve with a dollop of yogurt and garnish with the extra berries.
