Barrel room hosts opera

Lerida Estate winery hosts an evening of opera on Saturday, February 22, in its barrel room, which Lerida says has excellent acoustics. The music is from Canberra soprano Sarahlouise Owens and bass Damian Whiteley, with Natalia Tkachenko on piano.

They will present excerpts from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Sweeney Todd, arias from La Boheme, La Traviata and Porgy and Bess, the Drinking Song from Der Betelstudent, and Con Te Partiro. Canapes and wine at interval. The evening raises money for the United Nations program, Ending Poverty for Women and Girls through Economic Empowerment. 4.30pm-7.30pm, $60, 6295 6640.
